Dimitris Kataiftsis

He is actually a post – doctoral fellow of the University of Macedonia – Dept. of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies, in the context of the project “From Popular Markets to Family Businesses and to Russian Markets: an Horizontal Economy of the ‘Poor’ as a Survival Strategy of the Returnees from the Former Soviet Union from mid-80s until Today”, funded by the European Social Fund-ESF, through the Operational Program «Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020». He has accomplished his MA and PhD research in Sorbonne University (Paris IV) focusing on gender issues in the historical context of the Soviet Union Greeks. His first post-doctoral research funded by the “Agence universitaire de la Francophonie of Romania” (Eugene Ionesco program) was followed by an extended fieldwork in the autonomous Republic o f Abkhazia. He has published and presented several papers in international scientific journals and congresses.
His researches concern various historical and anthropological issues related to Soviet and post-soviet Greeks of the 20th and the 21st century.
